Fulfilment Assistant
We are looking for someone reliable, hardworking and detail-focused to join our busy website dispatch team. This role is fast-paced and hands-on, helping ensure our customers receive beautifully packed orders on time and to the highest standard.

- £12.84 per hour (paid weekly)
- 32.5 hours per week (Additional hours available)
- Monday to Friday / 9 - 4pm
- Full training provided
- Permanent
- Location based - Ripon, North Yorkshire
- We’re in quite a remote location that requires travel by car, so please do check you’re able to commute to our location before applying
The role is initially 32.5 hours per week as the bakery is open 9-4pm. As we move through the year, we extend opening hours to 5pm which would make the weekly hours 37.5. There is also the opportunity to work more hours during October-December due to high seasonality demand.
About Us
Sawley Kitchen is a family-run bakery, based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. Our team bring Mum’s recipes to life using traditional artisan techniques. Our most loved product is our biccies. We take the classic shortbread recipe and put our own twist on it with unique flavours. (Think Sticky Toffee Pudding & Apple Crumble!)
About the role
You'll be part of a small team who are at the heart of what we do day in, day out. The Fulfilment Assistant will be responsible for a variety of jobs within the busy dispatch area.
Daily Duties
- Following our processes for fulfilling website orders including picking, packing, and shipping customer orders carefully, accurately and efficiently
- Preparing parcels for daily courier collections
- Checking customer addresses and making changes where necessary
- Checking order notes, gift messages and special instructions carefully
- Handwriting customer notes that are written as part of a gift
- Ensuring all orders are packed with care so they arrive in good condition to our customers
- Perform quality control checks on products before shipping
- Assisting with stock rotation and maintaining product freshness standards
- Making our popular giftware items including hampers & gift boxes to a high standard
- Monitoring stock levels of packaging and dispatch materials
- Replenishing packing stations and keeping work areas organised
- Keeping the dispatch and storage areas clean, tidy and efficient
- Maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards at all times
- Helping ensure daily dispatch deadlines are met, particularly during busy seasonal periods
- Reporting any stock issues, damages or dispatch errors promptly
- Assisting with occasional wholesale order packing when required
Who we’re looking for:
Similar experience would be a bonus, but don’t fret if you don’t have any. We’d much prefer:
- A team player with a positive 'can do' attitude. You’ll have bags of initiative and get stuck in to get the job done
- A person who thrives under pressure and enjoys working in a busy environment - we can get pretty busy so there'll never be a dull day!
- Someone with excellent attention to detail who takes pride in their work ensuring output is of a high standard
- Ability to work standing for long periods of time
- Be organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively
- Be comfortable working independently when needed

The hiring process

- In Person Interview : 30 minute face to face interview where you can visit the bakery. Informal questions to learn more about you & your experience.
- Paid Trial Day: Spend a day actually doing the job. You’ll get a taste for what you’ll be doing day to day and whether it’s up your street.
